London is known for its wisteria, and you can see it plentiful here cascading down a beautiful white facade almost three stories in the posh Kensington neighborhood.

Tower Bridge is one of the most iconic points of interest in London and needs to be on your 4 day London itinerary. This English, neo-gothic architecture of two towers connected by a bridge between over the Thames is quite impressive. The bridge is intricately decorated with blue hues throughout, and the best way to see it is from the Tower of London!
Provincetown, Cape Cod has some of the most beautiful and historic neighborhoods on Cape Cod. This popular house on Commercial Street always is decorated with hydrangeas and a patriotic American flag all summer.

This is one of the best views of the Roman Colosseum, you can find it at Giardinetto del Monte Oppio. This will give you an elevated view of the back of the Colosseum with foliage in the foreground making it a lovely photo spot. If you stay in the Centro Storico area of Rome you'll be only a twenty minute walk from here. Whether you're spending 3 days in Rome Italy or even longer like 5 days in Rome, you have to add this to your itinerary!

Meet Meliss

Hello friend

Welcome to Meliss Meets World! I’m a part time traveler from New Engalnd and Boston who is now romanticizing her life in London. Living abroad has allowed me to travel the world with the love of my life and create this guide to world travel. I hope to inspire just a tad bit of wanderlust along the way or even help plan your next trip!

“Meliss Meets World – I hope this online diary can help plan your next trip, or inspire just a tad bit of wanderlust!⁣”

As part time travelers the initial idea behind this online diary was to have a way to document our travels around not only New England and Boston but the world. It’s hard to remember day by day memories, but looking back remembering and documenting each memory can help tell and define the story. These stories can then help you plan your next trip! I only share about destinations I’ve actually traveled to.

Cape Cod is one of the best places on the Cape to see the beautiful blue, purple, and even pink flowers hydrangeas. This quaint coastal house with blue shutters on Commercial Street has the most lovely display of them.
This is one of the most beautiful houses in Sconset, it is covered in roses when they bloom at the end of June. This shows how lovely the village or town of Sconset is and why you should absolutely visit it when visiting Nantucket.

5 things you NEED to know before visiting 🇮🇹 5 things you NEED to know before visiting 🇮🇹Positano

👧🏼Hi! I’m Melissa and I work as a luxury travel advisor in London. I can also help plan your entire Positano or Italy trip, feel free to message me!

1. Where you stay in Positano is really important, we loved our stay at @casalbertina_positano . It wasn’t too far along along the main road, since the farther you go among the main road the higher you’ll be climbing away from the town and beach.

2. This is why you should try to only bring a carry on if you can. You can pay for a luggage porter service when you arrive on the ferry. It was around €30/40 per bag when we visited.

3. Positano is expensive but you’ll want to splurge on a sunset boat ride. We took one with @bluestarpositano and it’s been one of our favorite memories of all of our Italy travels.

4. Book restaurant reservations ahead of time, most places have great views, the farthest from town you are the better and more reasonably priced they’ll be. We had dinner at the famous @lesirenuse …but choose to dine at the outdoor restaurant Aldo’s versus their indoor restaurant!

5. Take ferries between Amalfi coast towns. The buses are a nightmare and taxis are very expensive, you’ll thank me later!

Here’s the weekly recap from our trip to Cornwal Here’s the weekly recap from our trip to Cornwall, and a quick itinerary for you!

📍Take a 🏄‍♂️surf lesson in Newquay

📍Enjoy hydrangea heaven and the beautiful coastline at 🪴Trebah Garden (this was the most beautiful place we visited in Cornwall!)

📍Enjoy dinner at 🍽️MINE in Falmouth and admire the harbor

📍Visit 🏰St Michael’s Mount before heading to St Ives

📍Take the train from 🚊St Erth Station to St Ives, you don’t need more than half a day to see the town

📍Wander around 🚤Mevagissey harbor, this was one of the most beautiful harbors I thought we saw in Cornwall, the famous Lost Gardens of Heligan are close by

📍Visit the unique 🌿Eden Project

📍Find the wild horses in Dartmoor National Park

*Not pictured- Spend a few hours touring Tintagel Castle that’s associated with the legends of King Arthur. The area is massive and you can spend as little or as much time as you want!

*We also had a fabulous meal at the Longstore in Charlestown, which is close to Mevagissey. It’s a smaller harbor than ‘Meva’ but we chose to stay in Meva and this worked out really well for us. I would not recommend staying in St Ives as it’s expensive and not worth it, stay in an area somewhat close or central to all the places you want to visit.

‼️Want to know why I wouldn’t visit Capri ag ‼️Want to know why I wouldn’t visit Capri again, especially on a budget?!

➡️Even though I know this is an unpopular, this is just my opinion, but I would love to hear your thoughts!

🇮🇹If you’re looking to plan a trip to Capri and want to have an unforgettable trip it really is such a beautiful, luxurious destination! Feel free to message me and we’ll chat, I can offer you plenty of VIP perks with incredible properties there!

Let’s start from the beginning, even though this island is fairly easy to take a ferry too, it’s not very easy to move around the island or explore it once you’re there.

We opted to stay in a little bed and breakfast at the end of September (honestly the best part of our trip) that was close to the ferry port, but far enough away so it was quiet. It was a little less than a mile uphill, but we managed fine with our luggage and didn’t hire an expensive taxi (that’s why we brought only carry ons!)

Even though Capri is beautiful, it’s very hard to get around with public transport (if you’re opting for a more budget friendly trip).

To get from the ferry port to Capri Town you need to take the funicular, which when busy you could be queueing for a while.

To transfer between Capri Town and Capri Beach you need to take a bus (taxis aren’t always easy to come by). Since the buses are small you’ll also be queueing for a while, and have to wait for multiple buses.

Because Capri Beach and Capri Town are not close to each other, you’re unable to walk between the two. The two beaches we tried to visit were very small and crowded.

Beach clubs would be the better option, however you need to book reservations in advance and most are quite expensive.

If you’re staying in one spot on Capri or can afford to taxi everywhere I could how the trip would be different, but it’s just really hard to go anywhere on the island.

Since the island is quite small, it’s hard to do a last minute trip here as you need to book accommodations months in advance.

🏝️Have you been to Capri? What was your experience?!
