Here’s the recap on how to spend a long weekend in Here’s the recap on how to spend a long weekend in the Loire Valley, with many helpful tips!

🇫🇷Day 1: We essentially lost this travel day since there was a mechanical concern with our plane and we had to de-plane and re-board…but we still made it to our beautiful chateau hotel in time for dinner and that was my favorite meal the entire trip.

Hotels are not just a place to stay anymore but really a destination in themselves, and I offer free services for clients with hotel bookings only!

🇫🇷Day 2: Get to Chateau de Chenonceau in the morning, it’s very popular but you can buy tickets on site at the kiosk or a self-service ticket machine. The gardens are beautiful, but you don’t need more than a few hours to see it all (unless you have a baby lol)

Lunch in Amboise…keep in mind many restaurants close between lunch and dinner! You can walk around this small town and also see Chateau Royal d’Amboise.

If you have time you could also do a wine tasting at Caves Ambacia, or see Chateau de Villandry and their beautiful gardens. There’s also Chateau d’Azay-le-Rideau in the area. Chinon is supposed to be a great small town, we planned to have dinner here but just didn’t make it.

🇫🇷Day 3: Chateau de Chambord is one of the most popular chateaus in the Loire Valley, and also the biggest. There are tons of cute coffee and lunch spots on site, and even a luxury hotel if you’re looking for places to stay. Many of the other hotels don’t offer spots like this, so it was nice to have mote options here.

Keep in mind there really aren’t any luxury hotels in the area, so this is a great location if you want to be in the center of it all. The activities, facilities, and restaurants are site are plentiful. We didn’t have a chance to eat there this time, but had a great dinner at a more neighborhood option called Domus. I’m so glad we found this spot, because this area is more rural than I thought and there really wasn’t any restaurants in between the bigger towns (like Tours, Amboise, or Blois). *continued in comments

London is blooming! Even though this past week ha London is blooming!

Even though this past week has felt SO busy, especially since I meant to share this weekly recap on Friday, we really only had two appointments this past week. We’ve been enjoying all the blooms in London, and are so grateful to finally be seeing the sun!

Oli and I started a baby massage class, which basically teaches parents different massages to help with all sorts of things. It’s also a great bonding experience, and a good way for Oli to meet other babies. That’s one thing I feel has been hard living in London the last few years, is lack of the sense of community.

London seems like such a transitional city, and it’s been hard to meet people, even now with a baby. I will say I haven’t been the most proactive, it just seems like life has been so busy. We had family visit from the States right around the seven week mark, and then we were in the States for almost three weeks so we’re slowly getting back into London life now that we’ve been back the last two weeks.

I’ve been doing lots of spring cleaning, as Oli has definitely grown out of his newborn clothes and some of his three month clothes as well. They say the time goes so fast, and it really really does.

One thing we’ve done since we’ve been back is get Oli’s tongue in cheek ties corrected. I talked about this a bit in stories on how we had to do this privately since they’re assessed in the NHS, which is the public healthcare system. This could have been a reason for our difficult feeding journey- but maybe not too. It’s always so hard to tell.

This week we’re finally heading to France, our first ‘vacation’ so to say as a family of three! I’ll be busy prepping for that, but it’s honestly not so bad taking them when they’re this young, and I sure learned a lot of tips and tricks going to and from the States, maybe I’ll have to share!

For now enjoy these beautiful blossom pics! Talk soon!
