Meet Meliss

Hello friend

Welcome to Meliss Meets World! I’m a part time traveler from Boston who now is romanticizing her life in London. Living abroad has allowed me to travel the world with the love of my life, inspiring wanderlust along the way!

“Meliss Meets World – I hope this online diary can help plan your next trip, or inspire just a tad bit of wanderlust!⁣”

As part time travelers the initial idea behind this online diary was to have a way to document our travels around not only New England and Boston but the world. It’s hard to remember day by day memories, but looking back remembering and documenting each memory can help tell and define the story. These stories can then help you plan your next trip! I only share about destinations I’ve actually traveled to.

Shocker- this week’s ‘Monday moments’ recap Shocker- this week’s ‘Monday moments’ recap of the last week is a day late again.

I’ve shared recently how life can just get so busy, I mean I didn’t take a single photo this past week- crazy!

Even though London is lovely (hence some of my favorite wisteria photos I’ve decided to post today), I still ache to be back in Boston and New England.

Living in a big city, especially London, it can sometimes feel like life moves way too fast. I am grateful for our time in London, but I’m daydreaming more and more about walking around my favorite Boston neighborhood (especially this time of year), and getting ready to spend summer days on Cape Cod and Nantucket.

To distract my mind- I’ve been spending a lot of time building my business Meliss Meets World to include travel advising, and man I feel like I just hit the ground running- which I guess is a good thing right?

I’m so thankful I’m traveling back to the States this week to spend some much needed time with family- and hopefully not open too many emails!

Even though the world can be crazy, this is your reminder to stop and smell the roses from time to time, and be thankful for everything you love in your life- we only have one to live and we need to live it without regrets!

If you want to know more about how I can help you travel around the world, feel free to send me a message. I would love to hear from you!

Keep reading for our itinerary⬇️
This trip was all about castle hunting, and we definitely made the rounds. We started the trip in Glasgow staying at a propriety with an actual castle, and continued on North to the countryside.

Our first stop was @culzean , and let me tell you this castle that sits right on the water is stunning. Make sure to go at low tide to explore the beach!

The next stop was heading north to Braemar and staying in the Cairngorms National Park area. From this area we explored @dunnottarcastle and the quaint seaside town of Stonehaven.

The famous pink castle Craigievar Castle is right in this area too, but sadly we didn’t make it to this one.

One of my favorite castles we visited was @balmoral_castle . If you’re in Scotland you definitely have to visit! Apparently King Charles was in residence when we visited, but sadly we did not get a glimpse of him.

The trip ended in Edinburgh, and I still have so much to share!

If you’re thinking of traveling to Scotland feel free to reach out, I think I found the best hotel in Scotland!

Posting last week’s recap a bit late, but we sta Posting last week’s recap a bit late, but we started the week at one of my favorite pubs and ended it in a new country!

This country certainly surprised me, we actually visited because I found the most incredible vineyard property to stay at, and it definitely exceeded my expectations.

We found a ‘little Tuscany,’ without the crowds and a part of Europe that feels so authentic. We enjoyed a private tour of a few vineyards in the area, and it was so incredible to sit for hours, enjoying a glass of wine (or a few) and to hear all about the local vineyards’ stories.

We ended the trip in Lake Bled with ‘torrential downpours’, but thankfully the clouds opened up for a few minutes so I could snap a few photos of this famous spot.
