Ultimate New England Road Trip Ideas: From a Local!

These brownstones you'll find in Back Bay and they melt together seamlessly, of course with beautiful foliage climbing up its sides, and adorning double doors.

Where to Stay in Boston First Time: A Local’s Recommendations

This beautiful gray shingled house adorned with a blue door and hydrangea flower pots is one of the many idyllic houses you'll find in the storybook village of Sconset on Nantucket. If I had to choose architecture on Nantucket vs Martha's Vineyard I would choose Nantucket. Much of the island is designated as a historical landmark!

What Island is Better?? Nantucket vs Martha’s Vineyard

This is one of the most beautiful houses in Sconset, it is covered in roses when they bloom at the end of June. This shows how lovely the village or town of Sconset is and why you should absolutely visit it when visiting Nantucket.

Is a Day Trip to Nantucket worth it: A LOCAL’s Recommendations!

The Cape is known for its stunning flower, hydrangea, and even has a festival every year to celebrate them. You can find them specifically in Chatham on the Lower Cape and in Provincetown on the Outer Cape.

An Epic Weekend Getaway to Cape Cod: A LOCAL’S guide!

This is typical Bostonian architecture you will find in Beacon Hill, Back Bay, and other neighborhoods in Boston. These three to four story brownstones are adorned by black shutters, and the doors entryways are curved. They also sometimes have intricate windows protruding from the facades that makes it look more upscale. Many of the beautiful brownstones in Beacon Hill will have flowers adorning their window boxes and American flags hanging out front. Many of the streets are also lined with various types of trees that some create a canopy on the street and are stunning in the spring when they bloom.

Wishing you all a belated Merry Christmas, and a H Wishing you all a belated Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year!

What a year 2025 has been, I became a Mom, while also mourning the loss of Oliver’s twin. I can’t believe I did this while my travel blog MelissMeetsWorld.com officially became a LLC. I also started as a travel advisor for clients, and partnered with an incredible agency that has the best connections around the world.

Not only did I mourn the loss of our angel twin, but another miscarriage. I never thought I would say this- but I’m grateful for having experienced a miscarriage. My first miscarriage occurred six months before moving to London. My second miscarriage was shortly before getting pregnant with Oliver and his twin.

A miscarriage is hard, but losing a twin at 19 weeks came with additional feelings I never could have prepared for. Like I said I am grateful, because without those previous miscarriages I would have been less equipped to handle the loss of our twin. It’s one thing to grieve an early miscarriage, but to grieve for a baby you’ve seen on multiple ultrasounds…to carry on a pregnancy while trying to control that grief for your other baby…it’s hard to put into words.

We also had months of trying to control our anxiety and worries for the rest of my pregnancy. We lost Oliver’s twin post an urgent procedure for TTTS, and wouldn’t know how well Oliver would do until later on in the pregnancy. We went through a MRI, cardiac echo, and countless ultrasounds. And to top it off- my water broke at 35 weeks, which then required additional monitoring every two to three days until Oli was finally born.

2025 has given me more resilience than I would like to have, but I am still so grateful. It certainly has also given me a new perspective, and really taught me not to sweat the small stuff.

So here’s to 2026, and giving us all new perspective and hope. Thank you all for being here, and please know if you’re going through a similar situation, my DMs are always open❤️
Happy Thanksgiving friends! What a whirlwind of Happy Thanksgiving friends!

What a whirlwind of a week it’s been…I think I’ve only been able to process it the last few days.

This year has taught me more about resilience than I care to admit. You quickly learn it’s not the ‘what’ that gets you through but the ‘who’. I am so grateful for the man that’s stood beside me almost 17 years, my family, and friends.

For every dark day has still led me to the light, and I have so much I am grateful for. I sometimes still can’t even believe how close I am to starting that journey to motherhood, and to experience one of life’s greatest blessings.

There are many times this year it would have been difficult for me to find gratitude, and I’m sending love to those who are having difficulty finding it today too❤️.

Have a wonderful day with those you love, I’m sending lots of love from London!!

Here’s the weekly update that I really do try to u Here’s the weekly update that I really do try to update on Monday!

The time is sure flying by, I can’t believe we’re at 34 weeks pregnant and there’s not that many weekends left before we will get to meet our little miracle! My maternity leave officially started last week, and it feels so nice to be home and focus on what’s important.

The hubby and I have been having frequent date nights, and each weekend we try to make our way downtown. This weekend we had dinner @naroonlondon and tried to have a few drinks @sketchlondon , but of course on a Saturday night it was insanely busy.

Sketch is probably one of my favorite restaurants in London. I was there during the holidays a few years ago and they just decorate so beautifully this time of year! The food is delicious, and it has multiple rooms to dine and bars that are each so unique. I won’t even let you in on the secret about the bathrooms, you’ll have to see them to believe it!

The restaurants in the Big Mamma group are some of my other favorites, and of course you can’t visit without experiencing a true English pub!

The main attraction though this time of year is definitely the lights on Regent Street, but be prepared for crowds. Since I probably won’t make it out of the house to see them again, I love seeing them every year and wanted to make sure this year was no different!

I’ve also been prepping my blog and my clients to have some time away when baby is born. Even though my to do list for my small business is forever long, I also plan for it to give me some sanity when I’m at home with a newborn during the winter season (I hate the dark and the cold 😂).

That’s about it from me for now! Even though I’ll be taking some time off until after the New Year I’ll never be far from my inbox- so please feel free to send me a message!

I’m currently planning and finalizing summer travels for 2026 so it’s never too early to start! I’ve even seen price increases already, so don’t procrastinate those plans!

    Last week’s recap… Let’s just say I have certainl Last week’s recap…

Let’s just say I have certainly headed into the start of my maternity leave utterly exhausted…

I worked three twelve hour shifts at my day job, and spent almost two full days at @wtmlondon this past week. I’m so thankful I was able to meet up with my girlies @gailsglobe and @itsjhomonta !

The UK celebrated Guy Fawkes Night, which is always celebrated with fireworks- even though we saw a few from our backyard, we apparently missed the best show which was at Battersea Park the weekend before. I don’t actually completely understand the history behind the holiday, but I’m sure Google could help you 😅.

The leaves are all starting to fall in the neighborhood, and the cooler temps are creeping in. London is already ready for Christmas, and most decorations are up! This is including the famous Regent Street angels.

That’s about all I can think of for now! If you’re heading to London this season feel free to send me a message!

Thank you to all my lovely co-workers for hosting the most beautiful baby shower…and completely surprising me! For those of you who don’t know, travel advising and blogging is not my day job, but having the most beautiful celebration it will definitely make me miss seeing all you wonderful friends everyday!

Coincidentally in the same week @itsjhomonta and @gailsglobe hosted a brunch for baby, thank you to all who came out to celebrate with us!

Baby is now over 32 weeks and this last month or two is really flying by. We only have a little less over 5 weeks before we meet bb, and I’m definitely feeling all the emotions.

Earlier this week I finally hit publish on my epic ‘New England road trip’ post on the blog. This post boasts how wonderful New England is in both the fall and summer, and gives you two different road trip itineraries for either the fall or summer spending on when you want to visit!

I’m also currently planning a trip for clients to Boston for the 250th anniversary of July 4th. Hotels are booking up so make sure to message me if you’re a Bostonian looking for a staycation or want to be in town for the epic events!
